Legal Empowerment of Vulnerable segments of society (LESS) is a CIDA funded project being run in 3 districts of Balochistan i.e. Quetta, Noshki and Chaghi. The project started in July 2009 and will mark its end on July 2010. The prime purpose of the project is to ensure justice through providence of free legal aid to vulnerable segments of society with focus on women, children and minorities. The project is
also to sensitize the judicial system to respect and protect the rights of people.
Objectives:
- Ensuring Access to Legal Education, Legal Advice and Legal Aid to Juveniles and Women Prisoners, Prisoners under foreigner's Act, Senior citizen Prisoners and all other poor and needy prisoners who cannot afford justice
- Trainings/orientations on CRC, JJSO, UDHR and CEDAW to
FIA Officials/officers, Jail Authorities, Prisoners,
- Formation and strengthening of 50 Human rights Vigliance Committees at Quetta and Noshki
- Formation of 5 Refugee Rights Vigilance Committees
- Review and Need-oriented Suggestions on Jail Manual
Target Groups:
- Juveniles and Women Prisoners

- and all other poor and needy prisoners who cannot afford justice
